Abacavir
Abacavir Sulfate, Lamivudine, and Zidovudine
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
TRIZIVIR is indicated in combination with other antiretrovirals or alone for
the treatment of HIV-1 infection.
Additional important information on the use of TRIZIVIR for treatment of HIV-1
infection:
? TRIZIVIR is one of multiple products containing
abacavir.
Abarelix
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Plenaxis™ is indicated for the palliative treatment of
men with advanced symptomatic prostate cancer, in whom LHRH agonist therapy
is not appropriate and who refuse surgical castration, and have one or more
of the following: (1) risk of neurological compromise due to metastases, (2)
ureteral or bladder outlet obstruction due to local encroachment or metastatic
disease, or (3) severe bone pain from skeletal metastases persisting on narcotic
analgesia.
Abatacept
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
ORENCIA is indicated for reducing signs and symptoms, inducing major clinical
response, slowing the progression of structural damage, and improving physical
function in adult patients with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis
who have had an inadequate response to one or more DMARDs, such as methotrexate
or TNF antagonists.
Abciximab
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Abciximab is indicated as an adjunct to percutaneous coronary
intervention for the prevention of cardiac ischemic complications
? in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
? in patients with unstable angina not responding to conventional medical
therapy when percutaneous coronary intervention is planned within 24 hours
Safety and efficacy of Abciximab use in patients not undergoing
percutaneous coronary intervention have not been established.
Acamprosate Calcium
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
CAMPRAL is indicated for the maintenance of abstinence
from alcohol in patients with alcohol dependence who are abstinent at treatment
initiation.
Acarbose
INDICATIONS
PRECOSE ®, as monotherapy, is indicated as an adjunct
to diet to lower blood
glucose in patients with type
2 diabetes mellitus whose
hyperglycemia cannot be managed on diet
alone.
Acebutolol
INDICATIONS
Hypertension
Acebutolol hydrochloride
capsules are indicated for the management of hypertension in adults. They
may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents,
especially thiazide-type diuretics.

phosphate oral
solution is indicated for
the relief of mild to moderate pain.
Acetaminophen, Isometheptene and Dichloralphenazone
INDICATIONS
For relief of tension
and vascular headaches.
Based on a review of this drug
(isometheptene mucate) by the National Academy of Sciences - National
Research Council and/or other information, FDA has classified the
other indication
as ?possibly? effective in the treatment of migraine
headache.
Acetazolamide
INDICATIONS
For adjunctive treatment of: edema due to congestive heart failure; drug-induced edema;
centrencephalic epilepsies (petit mal, unlocalized seizures); chronic simple (open-angle)
glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and preoperatively in acute angle-closure glaucoma where delay
of surgery is desired in order to lower intraocular pressure.
Acetazolamide XR
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
For adjunctive treatment of: chronic simple (open-angle) glaucoma, secondary
glaucoma, and preoperatively in acute angle-closure glaucoma where delay of
surgery is desired in order to lower intraocular pressure.
Acetic Acid
INDICATIONS
For the treatment of superficial
infections of the external
auditory canal caused by organisms susceptible
to the action of the antimicrobial.
Acetyl Sulfisoxazole
INDICATIONS
Acute, recurrent or chronic
urinary tract
infections (primarily pyelonephritis, pyelitis and cystitis) due to susceptible
organisms (usually Escherichia coli, Klebsiella-Enterobacter, staphylococcus,
Proteus mirabilis and,
less frequently, Proteus vulgaris) in the absence
of obstructive uropathy or foreign bodies.
